A WEYMOUTH shop is busy collecting donations from kind customers for the Echo Christmas Toy Appeal.

Boots in St Mary Street is hoping more shoppers will give generously this year to make Christmas special for hundreds of needy children across south and west Dorset.

Boots healthcare manager Mandy Chaffers said: “By donating you are giving something that will go to someone in need.

“Sometimes when you give to charity, you don’t actually see your contribution make much of a difference.

“With this, you know that what you give makes a big difference to a child at Christmas time.”

Last year hundreds of gifts were donated to the toy bins across Dorset and the Echo is appealing for everyone to give generously again.

Last year 30 businesses donated £100 to the appeal.

This year the Echo is once again appealing for businesses to donate £100.

Now in its 12th year the Christmas Toy Appeal has brought cheer to hundreds of children who would otherwise fo without.

Please only donate new, unwrapped presents to the Toy Appeal and please, no cuddly toys – we get more than we can cope with.
