BUCKLAND NEWTON BROWN Hairstreak Egg Search – no it’s not an Easter game!

Brown Hairstreaks are one of the most elusive butterflies in the area.

But fear not, their eggs are quite easy to spot once you know what you are looking for.

Your local butterfly reserve is organising a Brown Hairstreak Egg search on Sunday, December 11.

These butterflies are also very rare so this is an important exercise to which everyone is most welcome.

Training will be given, participants are asked to wear waterproof footwear and bring a picnic if an all-day stay is anticipated.

The first meeting point is at 10:30am at Alners Gorse, map reference ST 737100.

A second meeting point has been arranged for those wishing to join later.

Meet at 1:30pm at Berry Farm, Rooksmoor of the B3143, map reference ST 737115.
