CERNE ABBAS CHRISTMAS performances by Cerne Abbas First School will take place on Tuesday, December 13 at 1:45pm and on Wednesday, December 14 at 6pm.

They are entitled “Holy Joe” and everyone is warmly welcome to join attend them in St. Mary’s Church.

BUCKLAND NEWTON A CHRISTMAS Family Service will take place at Holy Rood Church on Sunday, December 18 at 9:30am.

Furthermore, the village Carol Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at 6pm.

CHURCH cleaning: In order to make the church look its best for the festive period, volunteers for church cleaning and flower arranging are needed.

Why not join everyone for a fun and creative morning, serving the community and visitors at the same time?

The cleaning will take place on Tuesday, December 20 from 9:30am whereas the decorating of the church will take place on Saturday, December 17 from 9am.

Many hands make light work so please consider either date, contributions of garden greenery will be happily accepted also.

CHRISTINGLE Service: There is still time to join two rehearsals for the Christingle Service on Saturday, December 24 at 5pm.

They take place on Sunday, December 18 at 4:30pm and the dress rehearsal will be on Thursday, December 22 at 4:30pm.

Funds raised by the performance will go to “The Children’s Society”.

CHEESE and Wine Charity Evening: David and Marjorie Pearson would like to thank everyone who made this evening such a success.

Sizeable donations were able to be made to The Birds Nest Children’s Home in India and Buckland Newton’s Parish Church.

SYDLING ST. NICHOLAS A CHRISTMAS Coffee Morning will take place on Saturday, December 17 in the Village Hall, lasting from 10am – noon.

A small entrance fee of 50p will allow you to browse amongst the many stalls as well as take part in a Christmas raffle whilst enjoying a lovely cuppa and mince pie!

Schoolchildren go free, please note that the Sydling Book will also be on sale.

All proceeds will be divided between Home-Start West Dorset and Practical Action’s Flood Warning System in Nepal.

SCOTTISH Country Dancing: The last dancing session of this year takes place on Monday, December 12 at 7:30pm.

Why not attend even if you have never tried it before?

You may well decide to make it a new hobby in 2012!

The sessions start up again on Monday, January 9 and Monday, January 23 and are always held in the Village Hall.
