Stoke Cottage is a charming and classic end of terrace period cottage, believed to have origins dating back about 300 years, with mellow stone elevations under a predominantly thatched roof. It is listed Grade II of architectural or historic importance. Within the last 15 years or so, it has been subject to a whole number of improvements and enhancements, including rearranging of the first floor accommodation and very recent improvements include re-ridging, a mains operated smoke alarm system, extra insulation, part replacement of the kitchen appliances and external redecoration. The cottage is very well appointed with all modern amenities including gas fired central heating, well fitted kitchen with built in appliances, and modern bathroom and shower rooms. It offers well proportioned accommodation over three floors with attractive views over the church, village and distant countryside. Character features typical of its period include exposed beams, exposed brick work and stone plus window seats.

On the ground floor there is an entrance vestibule leading to an entrance hall, a very attractive, good sized and double aspect sitting/dining room featuring a host of character features including a pair of brick faced fireplaces and an old cast iron boiler (although currently not in use), a well equipped kitchen with electric oven, electric halogen ceramic hob, pull out extractor and slimline dishwasher and a good sized shower room. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, one with views towards the Church, a window seat and wardrobe, the second bedroom which also boasts a window seat and the family bathroom with a shower over the bath. On the second floor there is a very large principal double bedroom with under eaves storage and extensive views over the village and the surrounding countryside, with the church below.

The cottage also has the immense benefit of its own nearby private parking and a very attractive and private garden, together with a rear west facing adjoining courtyard.

A very successful holiday letting business has been operated, initially through Dream Cottages and now through Special Dorset Cottages. It is let all year - April to October weekly lets, Christmas for a 5 day period, and out of season short term lets are also available. Excellent gross revenue is being generated and currently the clients qualify for 100% business rate relief.

The cottage is available to be sold as a going concern with the benefit of fixtures and fittings and bookings. Alternatively with vacant possession subject to reasonable notice.

To the rear of the cottage, and accessed via the sitting/dining room door, or pathway round to the side, is a small west facing open plan courtyard, together with a brick and stone former privy suitable for storage.

Situated very nearby is a large private parking area, which can accommodate up to three cars. Adjoining here is a delightful fully enclosed garden, enjoying a good degree of privacy. It has been attractively landscaped with gravelled areas, very well stocked beds and borders and a whole variety of shrubs and plants.
