A beautifully presented character detached village house set within superb gardens and enjoying far reaching rural views.

Well Cottage has its origins dating back probably about 300 years and for much of that period was part of the local manor estate. In the past 30 years the property has developed and has been extended to both sides although very much in keeping and with character features retained. The house is of rendered and principally thatched roofs and offers 3 / 4 bedroom living accommodation depending upon buyers requirements together with a large main living room, separate dining room and refitted kitchen/breakfast room. The property is set within beautifully tended gardens that adjoin open farm land and accordingly some lovely views are enjoyed. The gardens include water features as well as a host of flowering and shrubs and is a gardeners paradise. The combination of character house, setting and gardens is extremely appealing and given the favoured location, early discussions with the agents is recommended.

Lowton is a small hamlet lying at the foot of the Blackdown Hills which are designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, the hamlet lying about 5 miles due south of the county town and near to the larger village of Blagdon Hill where facilities include two pubs and recreation ground whilst Trull is about 2 miles away where village stores are available together with primary schooling. Taunton is readily accessible where a wide range of shopping, recreational and scholastic facilities will be found including several noted public schools. The Blackdown Hills offer a wide array of attractive foot paths, some of which are immediately at hand.

The gardens and setting of Well Cottage are simply superb and have been beautifully tended over the past 15 years by the present owners. The gardens are extremely well stocked with a wide range of flower and herbaceous borders and include a host of specimen and fruit trees. A gravelled approach drive leads to a good size hard standing and turning area to one side of the house, adjoining which is a detached double garage with up and over doors. The gardens lie entirely to the southern side of the house and include a delightful central water feature with tiered ponds culminating in a small water fall which then proceeds via a tunnel under the house. Lawns and well stocked beds lie to either side and there are a number of mature trees including willow and Oak together with a splendid magnolia. The gardens are well protected affording a great degree of privacy but adjoin open farmland on the western side with lovely distant views being enjoyed particularly towards the west and the Brendon Hills.
