VOTED the Best Big Band in the Land for the eighth year running, the Syd Lawrence Orchestra are returning to Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, on Thursday October, 24.

The orchestra's brand new show, Big Band Spectacular, is directed by Chris Dean, and will take audiences on a dynamic journey packed with the biggest hits from the big band genre. Featuring the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, the show promises a night of dazzling entertainment for all.

The Syd Lawrence Orchestra was founded in 1967 by the great trumpeter and arranger of the same name, who retired in 1996. Still enjoying a critically acclaimed reputation, the orchestra blends high octane big band swing with classic dance music, drawing on a repertoire of more than 1,200 tunes.

Tickets for Big Band Spectacular range from £17.75 to £23.25 for adults, with concessions available for seniors, students and under-18s. To book, visit the venue's website or contact the box office. The show begins at 7.30pm.
