A CHOIR of hundreds is promising an uplifting experience at Weymouth Pavilion.

Some 280 singers who take part in Dorset Rock Choir are getting ready for one of their most prestigious performances to date at the theatre on Thursday, November 14 in support of children’s hospice Julia’s House.

Rock Choir members from Weymouth, Dorchester and Poole and their Rock Choir Leader, Stacey Hobday will be performing an uplifting and exhilarating experience featuring well-known pop, rock and contemporary chart songs.

The same Rock Choir members are heading on tour to Brussels three weeks after this event and are delighted to be bringing their exciting performance to Weymouth.

Rock Choir leader Stacey Hobday said: “As the choir leader for this fantastic group of people I am beyond proud that our singing adventures have led us here. As a Weymouth local myself I am so excited to lead 280 singers at our iconic local theatre. I performed on this stage in school musicals and as a choir we have supported both Russell Watson and Sam Bailey on this very stage as well as taken part in community events.

"This will be our very first ‘solo’ show and we cannot wait! It is an honour to once again support the fantastic Julia’s House and all the work that they do for children and families in our county.”

There will be a retiring collection for Julia’s House and volunteers will be selling Christmas cards and other stationery in the foyer. Julia’s House Community Fundraiser Sarah Agnew said: “Julia’s House supports children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families across Dorset. With only 5% of our funding coming from government sources, we rely on the generous Dorset community to support us with amazing events like this. We are extremely grateful to Dorset Rock Choir for choosing to support Julia’s House at their upcoming performance.”
