ONE of the most prolific figures in English folk is set to entertain an audience at Litton Cheney between Dorchester and Bridport on Thursday, December 5.
John Kirkpatrick will explore the timeless rituals and folklore of midwinter England with his concert, Carolling and Crumpets. He will reveal the pagan themes which haunt traditional songs and customs, all the while performing an array of toe-tapping tunes accompanied by a melodeon, button accordion and anglo concertina.
Joining the Hammersmith Morris Men at the age of 12, John has enjoyed a long career on the English folk scene.
John will perform at Ibberton Village Hall on Tuesday, December 3, at Hinton Martell Village Hall on Wednesday, December 4, and at Litton Cheney Community Hall on Thursday, December 5.
All performances begin at 7.30pm. Tickets are £9-£10 for adults (depending on venue), £6 for children and £25 for a family of four, available from the Artsreach website or box office.
