A TIMELY show about the fall of the Berlin Wall is coming Burton Bradstock, 30 years since the end of the Cold War.

Fallen Fruit can be seen at Burton Bradstock Village Hall on Saturday, November 23 at 7.30pm.

In 1989, as the Berlin Wall falls, a young girl looks to a future beyond communism, a couple’s love story unravels, and 80s TV permeates everything. In 2019, while Europe celebrates 30 years since the end of the Cold War, Britain faces departure from the European Union and a turning point in history…

Total Theatre Award winners Two Destination Language is set to tour with its powerful new show, Fallen Fruit, courtesy of Artsreach, the county’s touring arts charity.

The move from East to West, the fight or flight response, leave or stay, yes or no: this is a show about complex choices: barriers and walls in our minds and in our cities. From the story of Bulgaria’s acceleration away from its past in the communist bloc, into the uncertain future of today, told in turn by a seven-year-old girl, a couple in turmoil and a sharp-tongued 80s game show host.

This timely show places itself between east and west as we approach another milestone in modern Europe’s history. Expect a story of love, breaking free, breaking up and building a future in Fallen Fruit, as multi-award winning Two Destination Language bring to life the childhood memories of Bulgarian born Katherina Radeva, in a visually rich show full of extraordinary energy, playfulness and 200 cardboard boxes.
