A PRODUCTION of the classic play, A Christmas Carol, will be performed at Shipton Gorge near Bridport this December, in association with Artsreach.

Co-founder of the Kneehigh Theatre Company, Cornish actor David Mynne returns with a brand new production of Charles Dickins' festive favourite. The narrative follows the mean and miserable Ebenezer Scrooge as he is haunted by four ghosts, each one more terrifying than the last and who bring to life the past, the present, and the yet to come.

First published in 1843, Dickins' original words will be combined with anarchic comedy to create an unmissable one-man show.

Dave has previously produced adaptations of Great Expectations, Dracula and The Odyssey, working with director Simon Harvey to create storytelling that is exciting, accessible and easy to tour. For the Dorset performances of A Christmas Carol, Dave is working in partnership with Artsreach, the county's touring arts organisation which gives communities the opportunity to see and participate in high quality arts events.

A Christmas Carol will be performed at Shipton Gorge Village Hall on Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm. The show is suitable for audiences aged nine and above. Tickets are £9-£10 for adults, depending on venue, £6 for under-18s and £25 for a family of four. Call Kate Chomacki on 01308 897407 for tickets or buy from artsreach.co.uk
