Enjoy a Christmas Concert in West Bay from West Dorset Community Orchestra on Wednesday, December 11, from 7.30pm.
A programme of festive favourites will be conducted by Walter Brewster, with lead vocals directed by Lesley Whatley. Music will include works such as Christmas Piece by Mendelssohn, Melodies from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni and The Skaters' Waltz by Waldteufel, plus many more.
Run by West Dorset Music, which is based in Bridport, the community orchestra was reinstated in 2012 after previous cuts. The orchestra now meets weekly on Wednesday evenings, offering a range of opportunities to musicians of all ages and abilities.
West Dorset Music also offers tuition on clarinet and saxophone, as well as theory lessons aimed at those wishing to pass ABRSM exams.
The event will be held at St John's Church in West Bay. Entry to the event is free, but there will be a retiring collection with donations welcome. Mince pies and refreshments will be served during the interval.
