THE headliners for Dorset's 2020 Teddy Rocks Festival have been announced.

The Amazons will perform on Saturday, May 2, while The Fratellis will take to the stage on Sunday, May 3. The three-day event takes place at Charisworth Farm in Blandford.

Formed in 2014, The Amazons are a rock band from Reading comprised of lead vocalist Matt Thomson, Chris Alderton on guitar, Elliot Briggs on bass and Joe Emmett on the drums. The band released their debut self-titled album in May 2017, which landed at number eight in the UK album charts. Following two years on tour, The Amazons released their second album, Future Dust, earlier this year.

The Fratellis are a well-established Scottish rock band from Glasgow who first appeared on the scene in 2005. Two years later, they won a BRIT Award for Best British Breakthrough Act and have since achieved two top 10 singles with Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the Choir. The band's fifth and most recent album, In Your Own Sweet Time, was released in March 2018.

Teddy Rocks Festival began with a small gig in 2011, which was raising money for Teddy20, a children's cancer charity founded by Tom Newton after the death of his 10-year-old brother, Ted.

Ted had passed away from Ewing Sarcoma, a very rare bone cancer.

Since 2011, the festival has been held at various locations across Dorset, including the Greyhound Pub and Corn Exchange. Increasing demand saw the event relocate to Charisworth Farm last year, and 2019 attracted the largest number of guests to date. It also raised an unbelievable £107,000 for the charity.

2020 will see Teddy20 partner with the Bone Cancer Research Trust to take the Teddy Rocks Festival to the next level. Funds raised will go towards supporting the vital work of both charities, supporting children with cancer and fuelling life-saving bone cancer research in Ted's memory.
