Due to popular demand, Bridport's Lyric Theatre will host a one-off Scratch-no-Spit night on Monday, January 27.

Scratch & Spit nights generally feature around six to eight short 'scratch' (open mic) slots, followed by a headline professional show (the 'spit') in the second half. Given the popularity of the scratch slots, the Lyric has programmed a night to be filled solely by your works in progress.

The open mic nights have showcased a wide variety of talents and performers, from poems and stories to songs, aerial work and clowning mime. The events aim to give talented local people the chance to share their ideas and work with an appreciative audience.

If you have a piece of work between five and 20 minutes that you would like to share at the scratch-only evening, contact compere Rob on robertcasey@hotmail.co.uk to book.

If you'd like to chance it on the night for a five minute slot, arrive as close to 7pm as you can and sign in.

Doors and bar open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Bring cash and pay what you like on the door.

Scratch & Spit will resume its original format from Monday, February 24, with performer Kat Lyons headlining.
