Two exhibitions organised by Lyme Bay Arts will open their doors to visitors tomorrow.

Not Everything Is Black and White will be held at The Gallery Symondsbury until Wednesday, February 12. The exhibition will primarily display the work of local artist Trisha Hayman.

Trisha is fascinated by the expendable specimens of the natural world, like feathers and pebbles. This display will highlight her more contemporary approach to still life, where she uses simple clean lines in graphite to complement the richly detailed subject matter.

Alongside Trisha's work, the exhibition will also feature pieces by Mark Swan, creator of delicate Japanese Shoji screens and furniture.

The Gallery Symondsbury is open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm and entry is free, with free parking on site.

Lyme Bay Arts has also teamed up with the Lyme Regis Museum to run a series of exhibitions throughout 2020 and 2021 at the Rotunda Gallery.

The first artist to showcase his work there, from Saturday, February 1 to Sunday, March 15, will be the Bridport-based David Brooke.

Known for his distinctive paintings which evoke mythology and folk tales, David presents a new display of acrylic pieces entitled Mysterious Adventures. Through his artwork, David aims to elicit an emotional response from his audience, encouraging them to imagine their own narratives and create their own sense of mystery and adventure.

A member and past president of the Society of Graphic Fine Art, David regularly exhibits with the South West Academy of Fine Arts and the Bath Society of Artists, among others.
