A PUB based near Blandford has reached the finals of the Best Pub Serving Game category of the Eat Game Awards.

The Museum Inn at Farnham near Blandford Forum, is in the running for an Eat Game award.

It is one of 10 pubs in the final of this nationwide competition.

Landlord Paolo Corgiolu said: “Reaching the final 10 in The Eat Game Awards’ ‘Best Game Serving Pub’ category is a huge deal and we are very grateful to everyone who has voted for us.

"We’re right in the heart of the Cranborne Chase AONB, so as you can imagine, we’re incredibly lucky to have some excellent relationships with local farms and estates. This allows for a dynamic, field-to-fork dishes that change with the seasons such as our whole roasted Dorset Partridge.”

The Eat Game Awards celebrates all that is best about wild British produce by recognising great culinary achievements and other contributions to the cooking and eating of game.

The awards reflect the ever-growing use of wild game, highlighting the champions of British game and rewarding their success, innovation and passion in working with this natural countryside harvest.

The initiative was created by three leading British businesses, James Purdey & Sons Ltd, Boisdale Restaurants and Taste of Game, bringing together the shooting, game meat and hospitality sectors to celebrate the wild game meat produced in the United Kingdom.

The public will nominate the people or businesses that they feel embody the criteria of each category. The top 10 nominees from the nomination process are then moved through to the voting stage. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in February 2020.
