I DON’T know, bank holidays are like buses.

Grubby, noisy and full of weirdos, you wait for one and then another comes along straight after it.

Now, some of you may still be recovering from the Easter shenanigans, what with Tea on the Quay at the Lazy Lizard’s Hippy Fest in Weymouth and other sundry entertainments, but the good people at the Lizard are doing it all again for the benefit of those who missed it or can’t remember it.

Yes, next weekend is another bank holiday and they’ll be hosting their traditional Spring Break on Sunday, May 4, with all the popular usual suspects doing a turn on two floors of mayhem.

Downstairs Danny Adams, Chloe and Tom, Tom Caulfield and the delightfully named BoyTits will be doing what they do, and upstairs Electric Bucket, Peacock Suit, The Mad Hatters and the Leggomen will be doing what they do.

It’s sure to be another all-dayer and all-nighter to remember, if that’s not a contradiction in terms, and I’ll be giving a rundown of all the timing in next Friday’s Live! Page.

And The Rock in Weymouth has hosted hugely successful tribute nights recently, with Laurence’s homage to David Bowie and Paul Bacon’s Ultimate Elton all packed out. And next Friday, May 2, they’ve only gone and got The King in.

Well, not THE King but only Garry J Foley, one of the world’s leading Elvis tribute artists.

Garry has been touring all over Europe for a number a years and looking at his biog online, is always there or thereabouts when it comes to being ranked as the most authentic and realistic Elvis.

I understand that he will be appearing from inside a huge meringue, covered in whipped cream and glace cherries. Apparently, he always likes to sing In The Gateaux.

Meanwhile, those of you who live in the vicinity of Evershot should not be alarmed if you hear shouts of boogie, woogie or indeed oogie tomorrow night, Saturday, April 26.

It’s just Ben Waters and his crack band warming up for the UK and European tour with a gig at Evershot village hall.

He’ll be heading off to such exotic climes as Helsinki and, er, Swindon before giggling at the Walled Garden at Moreton, near Dorchester, on May 25. Tickets for the gig at Evershot tomorrow night are £10 and available on the door.

Right, that’s it for this week, I’m off to make up a double peanut butter cheeseburger and practise my karate kicks.

Thangyewverrrmuch.

Till next time....
