I DON’T know, you wait months for one bank holiday and another one comes along straight after.

They’re a bit like buses, I suppose: Noisy, filthy and packed full of drunks.

And no sooner as Easter disappeared over the event horizon, along comes the May Day celebrations and there are two great events this weekend for your entertainment.

First up and Teddy Rocks 2019 kicks off tonight Friday, May 3 at Charisworth Farm, Blandford and runs until Sunday May 5.

The festival was launched in 2011 by the legend that is Tom Newton and his family in memory of his younger brother Ted who passed away aged just 10 after suffering from Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.

Since then, an amazing £250,000 has been raised for the Teddy20 charity which fights cancer in children and young people.

Every year, a larger sum has been involved as the festival grows and grows and this year, they’re aiming to smash the £100k mark.

They’ve got a quite astounding line up with The Darkness headlining on the Saturday, ahead of their European tour promoting the new album Easter Is Cancelled, and the equally fab Zutons topping the bill on the Sunday.

There’s a fantastic range of music on offer across all four stages, so for full details and how to get tickets and all the shizzle you need to know, check out teddyrocks.co.uk NOW.

Okay, you can come back now… Thanks.

And it’s the second Quayside Music festival of the year in Weymouth this weekend on Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5

Coming so soon after a blockbuster Easter event, there’s another two days of top live music on the stage by the Town Bridge.

Tomorrow’s line-up starts at midday with Helena Mace followed by Elijah Wolf, Jukebox Junkies, Studio 55, The Shakespearos, Captain’s Beard, Paisley, Big Gunz, and Fleetwood Mac tribute act The Chain, followed by The Undecided inside The Anchor from 10pm, well after their bedtime.

Sunday’s fun again kicks off at noon with Aaron and Karina followed by Ctrl Alt Delete, Toxic Fish, Snakebyte,  UK Stone Band, Jolly Boys Outing, Modern Disciples, All On Trial and Apple Tree Theory with the  Surfing Birds in The Anchor from 10pm.

Another superb two days in prospect for the town, I think you’ll agree.

‘Til next time…
