FOLLOWING a hugely successful summer season in 2014, Pirates of the Pavilion returned to Weymouth for a brand new swashbuckling adventure.

Britain's Got Talent favourite Philip Green came aboard the Saucy Sally and stole the show in his role of Seadog Billy with his hilarious madcap comedy impressions.

He had both audience and cast in tears as he swayed from his lines and into his impressions of Stacey Solomon, Natalie Cassidy and Louie Spence.

From the 2014 production, we welcomed back local girl Charlotte Allen as Buccaneer Becky, Lizzie Frances as Melody the magical mermaid, and Alex Anstey who played the hilariously fabulous Morgiana, Melody's evil sister.

The pirates were also joined by Weymouth's Mercury Dance Academy.

Families were invited on board on the voyage of a lifetime with Max the mouse and his little sister Molly; Melody kept a watchful eye on the pirates, as her evil twin sister Morgiana attempted to foil their plans at every turn.

The pantomime has been hyped up for weeks in the town and, although it was a good show, my expectations were higher.

Philip Green was definitely the star of the show, with scenes without him being quite dull.

The pantomime lacked action at certain parts with a bit of an anti-climax.

The cast definitely had the audience involved from start to finish with the families transforming Morgiana from evil to good at the end with Melody's magic pearls.

At the end of the show the actors did their own version of the 12 days of Weymouth, highlighting all the town's delights, which the children loved and ended the show on a success.

Performances take place throughout the Summer Holidays, two days a week until August 31 with performances at 2pm and 7pm.
