THE final night of a worldwide tour for turbo-charged party animals the Scissor Sisters ended on an almighty high at the BIC.

Fire with Fire and I Don’t feel Like Dancing – performed in blaze of glitter ticker tape and multi-coloured lasers took us to disco heaven.

Jake Shears in his PVC gay fetish suit, exposing a G-string and bare six-pack, and the equally unabashed Ana Matronic, whipped the audience into a frenzy as they launched into songs from their hyper-sexualised, darkly delving new album Night Work mixed in with the camp glam rock disco of earlier hits.

Humorous, witty and unconventionally hedonistic, it was impossible not to dance – despite the sometimes sad and sinister messages in the songs.

New tracks like Skin this Cat, Harder you Get and Skin Tight are not all fluff and glitter balls but explore real issues of human sexuality.

The energy never waned. One-time New York stripper Jake danced and ran around all night – even flinging himself off stage for some crowd surfing as he performed the stomping ‘Filthy/Gorgeous’.

And when he unexpectedly rose from a platform amidst the crowd at the back of the flat floor to sing ‘Mary’- a tribute to a platonic best friend who died of a brain aneurysm, there were squeals of delight.

There was even a song (She’s My Man) dedicated to “England’s next queen- Kate Middleton...all about who wears the trousers in a relationship!”

Utterly unique, exceedingly entertaining and fabulous fun!
