THE Third Charmouth Literary Festival is on September 8 from 9.30am to 4pm and is free to attend. The festival will cover all aspects of writing and what it would be like to finally get your book published.

The event is very much hands on and it is hoped that people will be encouraged to do some writing during the day, with Jurassic Coast Writers hosting a writing session during the lunch hour.

There will be an opportunity to go for a walk with Juliette Adair and be inspired to write outside about what you see around you. Anne Orchard has just completed her second book and will talk about the process of writing and becoming an author.

Linda Parkinson Hardman is an expert on internet publishing and blogging and will dispel the mystery of promoting yourself on the computer.

Wendy Knee has written her memoirs about travelling with her grandchildren and will talk about writing your own memoir.

There will be a poetry session and a short story competition. This literary festival is aimed at getting you to put pen to paper in your chosen topic.

This is a free event to inspire and encourage writers and would-be writers and will be held in St Andrew’s Village Hall, Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth 9.30am-4pm.
