Southampton chef Jay Geddes has cooked for celebrities like Beyoncé, Rihanna and the Kings of Leon – not to mention our Royal Family. Here, he shares some terrible treats for Hallowe’en
Spooky Banana Ghosts
- 180-200g white chocolate bar (broken into chunks)
- 4 medium ripe bananas
- Small handful of chocolate drops
- Desiccated coconut (optional)
Melt the white chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water and set aside Peel bananas, cut in half, push lolly stick through them (I forgot to buy mine), lay out on a large baking tray with baking parchment paper and make sure there is plenty of room in the freezer.
Using a pastry brush or back of a spoon, coat the banana half with chocolate. Sprinkle with coconut (if required), add the chocolate eyes and mouth with the chocolate drops and it’s as easy as that.
You need to freeze for at least three to four hours and they last up to a week in the freezer.
