Reese Witherspoon is set to spread some fairy love.
The Oscar-winning actress is attached to star in Tink, a live-action version featuring the Peter Pan character Tinker Bell, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The 39-year-old star will also produce the movie with her producing partner Bruno Papandrea.
Victoria Strouse – the writer for Pixar’s Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory – will write the script for Tink, which is still in development and doesn’t have a director on board yet.
Sources have suggested that the film will offer a new perspective on the character, who hails from Pixie Hollow, much like Disney’s Maleficent about the Sleeping Beauty enchantress, starring Angelina Jolie.
Tinker Bell started as a minor and silent character in JM Barrie’s Pan story, but has become a much-loved character after appearing as Peter Pan’s fairy companion in Disney’s 1953 animated movie, Peter Pan.
Reese next stars in comedy Hot Pursuit alongside Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara, and will star in and produce drama Pale Blue Dot.
