One Direction have pretty much broken the internet again – this time with their new single Drag Me Down.
And it’s been so well-received – it’s 1D’s most successful global single launch EVER.
They didn’t even let fans know it was going to be released but it’s already number one in 82 countries. Wowza…
The Drag Me Down hashtag was the top worldwide Twitter trend for over 10 hours on Friday, with 22k tweets per minute being sent, and 3.2 million tweets by 3pm.
The band released Drag Me Down on iTunes and Spotify worldwide at 6.30am (UK time) with no fanfare, and before premiering it on radio or online. Featuring crashing guitars and soaring harmonies, Drag Me Down apparently showcases a more mature One Direction sound.
