We know that the MTV VMAs are not all about elegant ballgowns or sharp tuxedos, but there were a few outrageous outfits that stood out for all the wrong reasons.
And here are the celebs who dared to be seen in these bizarre ensembles at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
1. Miley Cyrus
Can this bum-baring chandelier skirt with suspenders really be classed as an ‘outfit’?
2. Walk the Moon
Four shiny disco balls right here.
3. Kanye West
There are no words to describe this.
4. Kelly Osbourne
Pinstripe fashion fail going on over here.
5. Serayah
Looks like a dress that was ripped to shreds before being sewed back together.
6. Baddie Winkle
Instagram’s favourite badass granny is famous for making bold statements with her clothing, so who can blame her for being inspired by Miley Cyrus…
7. Frankie Grande
WTF? We don’t even know what Ariana Grande’s half brother is actually wearing.
8. Blac Chyna and Amber Rose
So OTT, but we understand the feminist statement these two are trying to make.
9. Jeremy Scott
This acclaimed fashion designer has been behind some of Miley’s most insane outfits so it’s hardly surprising that he wanted to look like a television being calibrated.
10. Vance Joy
There are two words to describe this: Too bland.
11. Tyga
Tyga looks like a walking jewellery store. Less is more everybody, less is more.
12. Helen Lasichanh and Pharrell Williams
We love denim on denim but it’s quite an eyesore when it happens on the red carpet.
13. FKA Twigs
Kind of looks like she raided the lingerie store after running out of ideas.
14. Jaden Smith
Military prints are great if you’re going out for a burger, but on the red carpet where millions of people are watching? Not so much.
15. Britney Spears
Too tight, too tight.
16. Justin Bieber
We can cope with the ripped jeans, but THAT hair?
