Celebrity Big Brother’s Frankie Grande has accused Katie Waissel of “trying too hard” after her meltdown about being put up for eviction.
Former X Factor hopeful Katie tried to quit the house when she discovered her friend Grande had nominated her for Tuesday’s double eviction. She hid in the bathroom and stormed off to the Diary Room.
But musical theatre actor Frankie – who is the half-brother of US pop star Ariana Grande – claimed Katie was not suited to the Channel 5 reality contest.
He told Big Brother: “I don’t think this is necessarily the game for Katie. You have to be made of sterner stuff.”
Later, he told other housemates that Katie was playing the game and “trying too hard”.
In the aftermath of the row, Katie insisted she was “good”.
She told Samantha Fox: “I’m not a big fan of truth-hiders. I’m all right. Everything happens for a reason. I’m good.”
On Monday’s episode, Katie broke down in tears after her fellow contestants told her there had been some discussion about her being “unstable” and “weak”.
In the Diary Room, she told Big Brother: “Can you please get me my things? I want to get the f*** out. Now.”
Katie would not sit on the chair and instead stood off to the side, as she did not want to be on camera.
She repeated her desire to leave, saying: “I am sick to death of being made a f****** fool out of.”
Katie will face the public vote on Tuesday night alongside Frankie, Samantha, Marnie Simpson and Ricky Norwood, after they all received at least one nomination from their fellow housemates.
Ex On The Beach star Stephen Bear is also up for eviction. He faces the public vote every week because he has an eternal nomination.
American contestants Renee Graziano and Aubrey O’Day are the only housemates who are safe, after neither of them received a single nomination.
Celebrity Big Brother is broadcast on Channel 5 at 9pm.
