The winner of Robot Wars said his teammates were not able to celebrate their success because they had to get back to their jobs at Pontins.
Dave Young, Marc Dermott and Ben Bacon made up the Apollo team and were dubbed “the boyband of Robot Wars”.
They won the BBC2 show, which was rebooted this year after 12 years.
The trio met at a Pontins holiday camp.
Dave, 28, said that his teammates still work at Pontins and had to get back to work.
“They managed to get a few hours off… but had to get back to the holiday park,” he said.
Dave, who left Pontins five years ago, said: “I’ve got my fingers crossed that they’ll bring back the TV show and that we can defend the title.”
The trio were presented with the prestigious trophy by hosts Dara O Briain and Angela Scanlon.
