Now under the leadership of Chris Dean, this is said to be a fizzy and frisky glittering gem of a show.
The Syd Lawrence Orchestra has maintained a traditional big band line up since its conception, featuring trumpets, trombones, saxophones, rhythm section with piano, bass and drums and male and female vocalists.
The orchestra offers the bubbly verve and energy of that glorious Big Band music together with a hearty helping of nostalgia as they maintain the tradition of the swing era live on stage!
The concert will feature the very best in Big Band music and swing standards from the songbooks of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Neil Hefti, Billy May, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many many more.
Chris Dean adds spice to the evening with his fabulous vocal renditions of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett songs and the Band will be joined by Sarah Eyden, performing the Big Band songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald.
