THE next concert for Dorset County Museum Music Society will be given by the King-Ferguson Duo on March 27 at 7.30pm.
Their fascinating programme will mark the anniversaries of Dowland and Britten and includes the premières of Barry Ferguson’s song cycle Sea and Shingle and An Unknown Confederate Soldier’s Prayer.
The sea theme will be mightily enhanced by Elgar’s Sea Pictures with piano accompaniment Mezzo soprano Catherine King will be accompanied by Barry Ferguson.
Catherine has local connections and Barry Ferguson, who studied composition with Herbert Howells is now based in Sherborne.
The concert takes place in Dorset County Museum in High West Street, Dorchester.
