WEYMOUTH Dance Festival begins tomorrow and runs until May 5 at the Bay Theatre, Weymouth College.
The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Spectators can expect a weekend packed with fabulous dancing, colourful costumes and great entertainment. Ticket prices have been cut this year to an all-time low to allow as many people as possible to share in the success of this popular event. The festival will be welcoming more than 250 young dancers from the South West aged from three to 19.
Hundreds of dances will be performed during the course of the weekend by both soloists and groups, in styles ranging from ballet, tap, modern and contemporary to character, song and dance, national and classical Greek.
The festival offers a valuable performance platform for young dancers and welcomes nationally-recognised adjudicator Karen Collings to select the winners. It opens at 6pm tomorrow and continues from 9.15am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Performances continue until 9pm each day and the festival ends with the presentation of the adjudicator’s choice awards at 7.30pm on Monday. Tickets – available on the door – are priced at just £2.50 per session and only £1 for concessions with day tickets for three sessions costing only £6.
