A LIVE audience with 'Margaret Thatcher' is coming to rural Dorset.
Fringe legend Pip Utton plays 'The Iron Lady' at shows in Shipton Gorge Village Hall and Briantspuddle Village Hall next week.
Saviour or witch? Love her or hate her? This is not for Pip to decide, only to portray.
Pip Utton, a firm favourite on the Artsreach touring circuit in Dorset and a legend at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, has produced numerous spellbinding performances over recent years, including ‘Churchill’, ‘Chaplin’ and ‘Charles Dickens’.
Winner of The Stage Special Award for Acting Excellence in 2015, ‘Playing Maggie, The Iron Lady’ is his latest triumphant piece of new writing.
From 1979, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher divided the nation like no other politician; she changed the face of British, and perhaps world politics forever, and the effects of her influence and policies are still felt today.
In this spellbinding and provocative performance, listen to her philosophies, her inspiration and her logic, and then take the chance to question her as Pip not only becomes Margaret Thatcher, but risks taking audience questions, and answering them as The Iron Lady herself!
n Maggie: The Iron Lady is at Shipton Gorge Village Hall on February 24 at 7.30pm (call 01308 897562 for tickets) and Briantspuddle Village Hall on February 25 at 7.30pm (call 01929 471002 for tickets).
See artsreach.co.uk for more information about the performance.
