A CLASSICAL summer concert will be held by the Bridport Chamber Orchestra next week.
The orchestra is expanding its forces for the concert at the Sir John Colfox Academy in Bridport on Sunday June 18. Stephen Marquiss, a professional pianist, accompanist and teacher based in the south west will be performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The other works will be Mozart’s Paris Symphony and Symphony No. 4 by J C Bach.
Stephen’s career has included headlining with soprano Belinda Evans at the Birmingham Symphony Hall and outdoor Picnic in the Park events, and solo recitals both in the UK and abroad.
He has also had a long-standing interest in piano method and teaching and has created Piano Portals, a holistic approach to piano technique.
The concert starts at 3pm and will be followed by drinks and nibbles, included in the ticket price of £10. It’s free entry for children. Tickets can be bought in advance from the Bridport Music Centre or on the door. For more information, call 01935 824786.
