AFTER a summer break, Weymouth's Harmonics Choir is starting the autumn term from Thursday September 7.

The singing group is actively looking for new members, both men and women, to come and join them.

Harmonics meets every Thursday afternoon in Westham, at Weymouth Community Fire Station, from 2pm to 4pm.

There are no auditions and no need to sing on your own.

This singing group is open to anyone who likes to sing, with no previous experience and no need for participants to read music, as all songs are taught by ear in a very relaxed informal atmosphere.

Harmonics plans to perform at several events in the lead up to Christmas including the Dorset Community Choir festival at the end of November.

They learn a range of songs from this country and from around the world.

Su Lewis, of the choir, said: "You’ll find yourself very quickly losing any self-consciousness and singing with others in glorious unaccompanied two, three and four part harmony … and there’s a great social element to each session, with a break in the middle for tea, laughter and chat!"

The first ‘taster’ session is free. Come and join the choir on any Thursday at 2pm at Weymouth Community Fire Station, Radipole Lane.
