TALENTED boogie woogie musician Ben Waters is coming home for Chrismas.

Ben and his son Tom will perform a series of local gigs starting tonight (20), before and after the big day.

The last 24 months have been a whirlwind for Ben and Tom with Ben playing piano and singing and Tom on sax and drums they toured all over the world.

They went to most continents; they had a great time playing in Australia, New Zealand, South America, Canada, USA, Iceland, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and most of Europe and Scandinavia

Tom had to curtail his touring as he got chosen to attend the prestigious Purcell School Of Music during the week and the Royal Academy of Music at the weekends.

With the Purcell School of Music he is playing concerts all over the place and will even be featured on BBC Radio 3 on Christmas Day. Tom has sessions all over the place and has even been to Abbey Road Studios. He has also recently recorded with legendary Kinks front man Sir Ray Davies MBE for his new album and with Ray, his Dad and a few others they will be recording some film to promote the album in January

Ben’s band, made up of mostly Weymouth musicians, Ady Milward, Richard Hymas, Micky Biggs and Adam Davy, have all encouraged Tom, wishing him every success with his future even though they have missed him in recent months

Ben won Best Boogie Woogie pianist 2016 which was presented to him by Jools Holland. The band played for HRH Prince Harry, had concerts with Jools Holland, Mick Taylor and Kikki Dee, They even wrote a song for Shakin' Stevens call Last Man Alive, which got A play listed on Radio 2.

Ben, the band and Tom have been recording a new album, which will be out early 2018 and will be released worldwide. Jools Holland kindly played on it, Ray Davies let them use his studio and some amazing guests are going to make an appearance .

On Saturday December 30 the Ben Waters Big Band will play Weymouth Pavilion with support from Amy Mayes. Tickets cost £20. Call 783 225. Then, on New Year's Eve, Sunday December 31, they will play a sold out gig at Moreton Village Hall.

Then in the New Year Ben and Tom have a two night run at the world’s best jazz club, Ronnie Scotts, Ben then heads Down Under for a six week tour of Australia and New Zealand and will play Sydney Opera House on February 7.
