SEE an adaptation of Shakespeare's late great romance The Winter's Tale in local cinemas tomororw.

Royal Ballet Live will be performing this revival live from the stage of the Royal Opera House in London under the baton of conductor Tom Seligman.

King Leontes (Ryoichi Hirano) is fiercely protective of his wife Hermione (Lauren Cuthbertson), who is pregnant with a daughter.

He becomes convinced that Hermione is having an adulterous affair with his childhood friend, King Polixenes (Matthew Ball). Accusations of betrayal tear the two households apart, leading to the death of the queen.

The baby, Perdita (Sarah Lamb), is rescued from certain death by a shepherd, who raises the girl as his own. Many years later, Perdita falls madly in love with Polixenes's son Florizel (Vadim Muntagirov).

The purity of this romance helps to salve the wounds of the past and Leontes finally comes to terms with the ramifications of his jealousy.
