Some big events are taking place this weekend. Here's a rundown of what you won't want to miss.

*The big event this weekend is Dorset County Show, taking place at Dorchester Showground tomorrow and Sunday.

Among the highlights this year are camel racing and a new food and farming education area.

The show has also recently introduced attractions such as shopping at the Avenue Marquee, Heavy Horse Village and the Dorset Artisan Craft Marquee.

As well competitive classes the weekend will showcase rural skills, local food and drink producers, a wide variety of over 450 trade stands and much more. Tickets cost £18 for adults on the gate. Entry is free for youngsters 16 or under. Gates open at 8.30am and close at 6pm each day.

*Hat's the way we like it in Bridport this weekend!

The town's famous hat festival returns for its ninth edition.

'Haturday', a huge mass hat-wearing photoshoot in Bucky Doo Square takes place tomorrow.

There will be entertainment on the Millennium Green, talks in the Bull Hotel and a Ceilidh, music in the Ropemakers and concert with Hank Wangford in Bridport Arts Centre in the evening. See bridporthatfest.org for more information.

*Elles Bailey returns to Dorchester Corn Exchange tonight at 7.30pm, this time not as the support act for Jo Harmen but as the main act.

Elles has a talent for crafting and seamlessly weaving rootsy blues, country and soulful rock, with a contemporary edge.

Enjoy her 'smokey vocal' style that perfectly fits her music. Elles will be supported on the night by Lady Nade, a blues, roots, soul and folk-influenced singer-songwriter from Bristol.

*At Weymouth Pavilion tonight, enjoy two acts on completely different ends of the musical spectrum!

Kevin Lovatt brings his Johnny Cash tribute to the pavilion from 8pm, while, Wannabe - The Spice Girls Show will also be in the building from 7.30pm! Call the box office for tickets.

*There's more quality tribute acts to enjoy tomorrow at Weymouth Pavilion with MAGIC - A Kind of Queen taking to the stage tomorrow at 7.30pm while on Sunday at 7.30pm it's The Illegal Eagles, said to be the world's official number one Eagles tribute.

*The Bournemouth Air Festival 2018 has landed in Dorset. Continuing until Sunday, the event is now in its 11th year and will feature displays from old favourites the Red Arrows, The Blades and RAF Chinook with first-time appearances from the Breitling Jet Display Team, Jet Suit Display and Super Pitts Muscle Plane.

Plus, there will be spectacular Night Air performances courtesy of Otto the Helicopter and the Twister and Fireflies Pair.

This year the festival welcomes one of the Royal Navy’s most advanced ships for the first time.

HMS Diamond will be off the coast of Bournemouth throughout the festival and there will be special anchorage boat trips around the Type 45 destroyer.
