SEE one of the Royal Ballet's most popular productions in Dorchester on Monday, December 3 at 7.15pm.

The Nutcracker is being streamed live to the Plaza cinema.

Choreography is by the celebrated Peter Wright with of course the ageless music of one of the world`s top composers, Pyotr Ii`yich Tchaikovsky. Conductor for this production is Boris Gruzi, with the part of Sugar Plum Fairy played by Lauren Cuthbertson and the Prince, played by Federico Bonelli.

The story revolves around the young Clara creeping downstairs on Christmas Eve to play with her favourite present – a nutcracker.

But the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer is waiting to sweep her off on a magical adventure. After defeating the Mouse King, the Nutcracker and Clara travel through the land of snow to the Kingdom of the Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy treats them to an amazing display of dances.. Back home, Clara thinks she must have been dreaming – but doesn`t recognise Drosselmeyer`s nephew?

In Peter Wright`s classic production for the Royal Ballet, the stage fairly sparkles with theatrical magic – a Christmas tree grows before our eyes, toy soldiers come to life to fight the villainous Mouse King and Clara and the Nutcracker are whisked off to the Kingdom of Sweets on a golden sleigh.

Adam Cunard, Picturedrome Cinemas managing director said: The Nutcracker is a real master-piece and we are delighted to be screening the ballet live. However, please do pre-book your tickets as demand is sure to be strong."
