BRAZILIAN artists are ready to clown around and bring the laughs to Bridport.

Nos Three, a collective of Brazilian artists, are bringing their clown show Blooming Out to Bridport’s Lyric Theatre for two nights on November 15 and 16, along with a special clowning workshop for women on Saturday November 17.

Blooming Out is a clowning play created and performed by Bianca Bertalot and Maria de Jesus Rocha on the meaning of the feminine universe. Using clowning techniques, they embrace the disparate themes of this universe including fragility, physical transformation and love; all in a light, comic and poetic way!

The life of every woman is filled with great discoveries and endless transformations.

Blooming Out is a clowning performance that uses only non-verbal language to explore some of the most intriguing moments in a feminine universe.

Beauty, periods, oppression, maternity, taboos, love and growing old, are just some of the many fascinating and difficult themes that build the intriguing story of this play.

In the women's only clowning workshop, Bianca and Maria will help you work in a safe space with the clown technique. Through different games and exercises, creativity will be developed individually and collectively in a group. It will be a safe environment to discover your clown within and explore the themes of the feminine universe.

It's open to all women aged 16+ whether you are new to performing or a professional. The workshop takes place at The Lyric on Saturday November 17, 10am to 2pm. Tickets are £30 and must be booked in advance due to limited places! Come ready to start promptly at 10am, wear loose clothes and bring a drink and lunch/snack.
