AWARD-WINNING comedian Marcus Brigstocke will be digging deep for laughs. All the way to hell, in fact.

The master of satirical comedy brings his show, Devil May Care, to the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne on Wednesday. Taking on the role of Lucifer himself, he will attempt to settle our modern-day moral confusions once and for all.

Snowflake, Remoaner, Libtard, Brextremist. Feminazi... just what do these unpleasant categories actually mean? What is good and what is bad?

In his comedy show, the devil no longer runs hell day to day. He’s a golf-playing retiree now. However, he still sits on the board of the underworld and advises on such matters as how to make eternal damnations sustainably hot.

With impressive stage make-up, including horns and a beaming-red visage, Brigstocke inhabits this sinful role with relish. Despite the lofty celestial concept, expect the comedian’s well-known left-wing views to fuel many of the gags.

With Donald Trump and Brexit, 2018 is providing him with plenty of fodder. What on earth – or indeed hell – would the devil make of it all?

Great audience banter is promised in this acclaimed show. It is loosely structured around the devil’s fall from heaven and relationship with God. The BBC Radio 4 favourite was raised in Surrey and his early jobs included working on a north-sea oil rig.

Marcus Brigstocke brings his Devil May Care tour to the Tivoli on Wednesday, November 14. Call the box office for tickets.
