POPULAR 80s band ABC will be back on the road in 2019 performing their iconic debut album, The Lexicon Of Love, in full plus all their greatest hits.

The new wave band will be joined by the Southbank Sinfonia and Anne Dudley who will conduct the show which includes a date at Bournemouth Pavilion on Monday, April 8.

The Lexicon Of Love was first released in 1982 and went straight to number one.

Fusing dance floor finesse with a post-punk attitude, the album spawned timeless tracks such Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love, Tears Are Not Enough, and All Of My Heart. The album remains one of the best albums of all time.

Frontman Martin Fry said: “For me the excitement is building. This truly is my favourite show to perform.

“There’s a magical combination at play in the spark between the band , the orchestra and of course Anne Dudley conducting. It all adds to a very special evening!”

ABC were formed in Sheffield in the 1980s. Their debut album The Lexicon Of Love went to number one and sold over a million records.

To date ABC have released nine studio albums: The Lexicon Of Love, Beauty Stab, How To Be A Zillionaire, Alphabet City, Up, Abracadabra, Skyscraping and Traffic.

Some 36 years since the release of their landmark debut album, ABC returned with their resounding triumph The Lexicon Of Love II which immediately entered into the top 5.
