TOP Lots are lined up for Bridport Arts Centre’s first ever Auction of Promises next week.

It'll be held at the centre on Thursday, December 6 and there will be some tantalising lots, including a week at Minack House in Cornwall, overlooking the Minack Theatre and the sea. A stay in this property is a once in a lifetime experience as it is not normally available to rent

There is also the chance to bid for a signed photograph from the Magnum photographer Martin Parr, an Indian meal cooked in your home for six people and a guided tour around the House of Lords

Bidders can also win a champagne croquet game for up to 10 people including lunch and a couture dress designed, fitted and made – perfect for a special occasion for a wedding, cruise or a cocktail party.

A spokesman for the centre said: "Do come along to this very special event, which promises to be an enjoyable evening for all. Thanks to our generous contributors we will have amazing array of promises up for auction: you can bid for a week at Minack House on the stunning Cornish coast adjacent to the famous theatre, a signed Martin Parr photo, a tour of the House of Lords with Lord Tony Hall, a delicious meal at the Ollerod, a day on a canal with lunch, a course of massage and much more!

"With wine and canapés to the sound of Philip Clouts jazz piano included, this is a wonderful way of having fun, treating yourself or a loved one, and supporting your art centre to raise much-needed funds."

The event is part of a fresh drive to raise as much as possible to help the arts centre team look after the building and keep bringing culture and creative activity to the local area.

Lisa Wilcock of the centre said: “It’s easy to forget that we are a local charity, but only 32 per cent of our income comes from ticket sales. We have been a creative home for generations of local people. Your kind generosity helps us to safeguard the building and fill it with creativity.”

As part of the evening you can enjoy a drink and canapés, sponsored by Porter Dodson, included in the ticket price. Tickets are £4 and should be booked in advance, some will be available on the door on the night. Michael Dark, managing director of Bridport Auctions, will be the auctioneer.

You can view all the lots on offer by visiting bridport-arts.com and following the link. Those who can't attend in person can make online bids thought the arts centre's website.
