AN author who kept his faith despite a battle with depression will give a talk at St Mary’s Church in Weymouth.

Alan Snuggs, who wrote Surrounded by Jesus: confessions of a flawed Christian will be talking at the church on Saturday.

Describing the upcoming event, Neil Biles, Community Chaplain of St Mary’s church said: “In my role I meet all sorts of people. I see the good, the bad and sometimes the ugly. I have known Alan for longer than I care to remember. He is my best friend, confidant, holiday buddy, prayer partner and much more. I have watch him get married to his wonderful wife Nicole, become a father to James and Jessica, change careers and more importantly follow Jesus. If there is one thing you learn about Alan is that he is passionate about life and about a guy named Jesus. In this book Alan paints a very real, honest and as he says brutal account of what his life has been like. I watched my best friend go through deep depression and come out the other side. It was the darkest moment of our lives together. And yet Jesus was there in those moments we shared. It's a book about the life of two people, Alan and Jesus and how that relationship has lasted all these years through the ups and downs. It's a great read and I promise you that you will be able to enter into Alan's journey with God and be challenge how things can be different in your life by following this guy named Jesus.”

The talk will begin at 7pm and finish at around 9pm.

Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm for those attending.
