Fed up with Christmas shopping already? Here's our guide to all the entertainment on offer to make this weekend more fun.

*HEAR a unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass with Mad Dog Mcrea at Dorchester Corn Exchange tonight (7) at 7pm.

From self-penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, to traditional songs of gypsies, fairies, legless pirates and black flies, Mad Dog never fail to capture their audience with their infectious songs.

*JOIN cellist Sally Flann and violinist Russell Dawson for a lunchtime of well-known Christmas favourites at the Shire Hall, Dorchester tomorrow (8) at 1pm. The Purbeck Village Quire will also perform music and songs from the mid-18th to the mid-19th century.

Lyrics will be provided and everyone is welcome to join in the fun and sing along! The concert is free with a museum annual pass; all donations go towards the upkeep of Shire Hall.

*ENJOY a performance of French classic music at Weymouth Bay Methodist Church on Saturday.

As a departure from their traditional Christmas repertoire, Dorset Sinfonia will play pieces from 19th and 20th century France called Ce n'est pas encore Noel! (It isn't Christmas yet!) on Saturday evening.

The programme, designed to be entertaining for all ages, includes the well known Arlesienne Suite No. 1 by Claude Debussy, the dramatic Roman Carnival by Hector Berlioz and the much-loved Orpheus in the Underworld (including the famous Can-Can finale) by Offenbach.

It Isn't Christmas Yet! Dorset Sinfonia, Weymouth Bay Methodist Church, Weymouth, Saturday December 8, 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and free for under 18s and will be available from Dorchester Tourist Information Centre and on the door.

*FIND out more about the Bus Shelter homelessness charity by attending an open day tomorrow (8) at the cause's base at The Beach car part in Preston Beach Road, Weymouth, from 11am to 2pm.

There will be refreshments including mince pies and Bus Shelter Christmas cards, angel decorations and wreaths will be for sale. Supporter Angie McLachlan will be taking part in a sponsored head shave at the event.

*EXPERIENCE silly songs and pitiful puppetry with The Nativity at Dorchester Corn Exchange tomorrow (8) at 8pm.

Living Spit, AKA Howard and Stu, are back to tackle the second greatest Christmas story ever told. Living Spit’s Nativity promises to be a cornucopia of comic Christmassy crudeness you’ll never forget!

*GET your disco shoes on to see soul band The Real Thing perform their greatest hits this weekend.

The British group, who've had hits including You to Me Are Everything, Can't Get By Without You and Can You Feel the Force will play Weymouth Pavilion with a full live band tomorrow (8) evening from 7.30pm.

Support will be provided by Richie Sampson, a former member of The Drifters who will perform a 70s disco set

*WEYMOUTH Pavilion is offering an alternative musical evening for reggae fans also tomorrow (8) evening at 8pm with Legend - The Music of Bob Marley.

*FESTIVE entertainment with a difference comes to Martinstown Village Hall tomorrow (8) at 7.30pm with Christmas. Time.
