ENJOY an amusing quest to reach the South Pole followed by some live music
What happens when you want to stick the flag into untrodden snow but someone else beats you to it?
Join surreal clownish adventurer Ellie Westbrook on an evening at the Lyric Theatre in Bridport on Sunday, February 10 inspired by the journals of Shackleton and Scott.
Big Berg asks what, how, and why are people attracted to great acts of bravery/lunacy/fame, and at what lengths do we go to achieve them?
There's original music, song, character shifting, physically embodied icebergs and casual questions about the meaning of life. It's profound, surreal, and really silly too.
Big Berg is followed by a live music set from Eli Carvajal, who write songs that speak with a warm, raw intensity. Soulful melody and direct poetry, honest and exuberant, Eli offers connection songs for the disconnected, earthling or alien.
*Big Berg and Eli Carvajal, The Lyric, Bridport, Sunday, February 10, 6pm. Tickets are £12 / £5 (12-18s), available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901, from bridportandwestbay.co.uk or BearKat Café, as well as on the door from 5.30pm the night of the show.
