TAKE part in an epic cycle ride through the Dorset countryside.

The Jurassic Beast Sportive on Saturday, May 18, between 7.30am and 5pm, is giving cyclists the choice of a 36, 63 or 100 mile cycle ride starting out at the National Tank Museum in Bovington.

Epic riders split straight away as the route heads north and up through a series of unspoilt Dorset villages, skirting around the base of menacing-looking hills in the region, throwing in a short and sharp climb every now and again - while you'll pass the first after mile 10 just past Milton Abbas. Continuing on, the next spike in gradient will follow just a few miles later, just before Shillingstone, followed by another as you head towards Ansty Cross.

Pushing on through Dorset, you'll continue to ride through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and tackle another series of short and steep climbs.

It costs £40 to enter the epic and standard rides, £31 to enter the short ride or £3 to enter the under 16s ride. Go to go.evvnt.com/371622-0?pid=4764 to book a place. Call 01425 653372 for more information.
