TWO art events are being held at the Dewlish Chapel in Dewlish, near Dorchester, to help raise money for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Artist Anita Law is hosting the events to raise much-needed funds for the hospice and to help people with the therapy and wellbeing that art and craft can offer.

They are being hosted as part of the Craft for Care Week being organized by the Weldmar Hospice.

The first event is a Come and Paint in Watercolour workshop, which will take place on Monday, April 1 from 10am to 12.30pm. The workshop is for all abilities, including people who have never painted before but would like to have a go.

Participants are invited to either bring a painting along that they need some help with, or a photograph of a subject they would like to paint. Anita will offer individual help and advice and demonstrate techniques where appropriate.

Complete beginners will be shown some demonstrations to follow. The cost of the workshop is £10 and booking is through the Weldmar Hospice weld-hospice.org.uk/craft for care. All proceeds will go to the hospice.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2pm to 4.30pm, Anita will be hosting her second event; two watercolour painting demonstrations. A Japanese Lady is a brush pen and watercolour demonstration, Anita's interpretation after a work by Hokusai and Plum Blossom, this demonstration uses some unusual techniques. All are welcome and the cost is £5. Book through The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Anita runs a regular Saturday morning class, if the above dates are not suitable it may be possible to attend this class and pay the hospice.
