A CAPACITY crowd enjoyed a free lunch time concert by Dorchester Piano Quartet at Dorchester Arts.
The Dorchester Piano Quartet have been performing regular lunchtime concerts at Dorchester Arts' base at Dorchester Corn Exchange since their previous home at Dorset County Museum closed for redevelopment.
A capacity crowd enjoyed a programme of Beethoven and Strauss.
This concert followed on from a well-received free concert by sixth-form students at Thomas Hardye sixth form as they prepare for their A-Level exams. They performed a variety of instruments and styles, with some particularly noted woodwind and brass playing.
Mark Tattersall said: “These free lunchtime concerts are a wonderful opportunity for audiences to hear high quality professional musicians and support our own young musicians who may be the professionals of the future.”
Dorchester Piano Quartet’s next concert at Dorchester Corn Exchange is at 1pm on Thursday, July 4 .
Thomas Hardye School's sixth form music students' next performance on Wednesday, March 26 is a private performance as part of their A-Level examinations and is not open to the public. They will next play at Dorchester Arts in spring 2020.
Entrance to these performances is free, but donations are welcome.
