JOIN all-male troupe the HandleBards at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

Much Ado About Nothing will be performed on Tuesday, May 28 at 6.30pm.

In usual HandleBards style, expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter.

The HandleBards is the world’s first cycling theatre company and they pedal from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe.

The play is about a group of soldiers who return from the war to a household in Messina, causing the kindling of new love interests and the re-kindling of old rivalries. The parallel love stories of Beatrice, Benedick, Claudio and Hero become entangled with plotting, frivolity and melodrama in Shakespeare’s famous comedy.

This is an outdoor production, so audience members should bring their own chair or blanket to sit on, a picnic to dig into, and dress for the weather!

The production is directed by Emma Sampson, who is currently executive producer for Upstart Theatre Company.

Her other directing credits include Mugs Like Us (the Space), Tartuffe (the Space) and the new writing festivals The Ashes (for Hampstead Theatre) Bits Of Obits and Lost Soles (for Riff Raff Productions and the London Design Festival) and Small Lives, Global Ties (for Tamasha Theatre Company).
