Get ready for a bumper weekend of bank holiday fun. Here's our guide to what's going on.

*TURN back the clock to the 1940s with a special Home Front Weekend at the Nothe Fort Weymouth today (25) and Sunday.

Experience Living History with Home Front 'Dad's Army' re-enactors, The Home Front Museum, (which will include a 1940's wedding display) Churchill's Secret Army, displays of 1940's fashion, Pathe Newsreels from the war years and an exhibition of photographs from Weymouth in the 1940's.

Take part in the 'Evacuee Experience' with Nothe Fort guides, visiting areas of the fort not normally open to the public. It takes place from 10.30am to 5.30pm both days. See nothefort.org.uk/newsevents for more information.

*FAYRE in the Square returns this bank holiday weekend.

Enjoy music and stalls in and around Hope Square in Weymouth.

This Weymouth Rotary Club event will be raising money for local charities and groups.

*THE Bowie Experience at Weymouth Pavilion this (25) evening at 7.30pm features all of the pop icon's greatest hits.

Laurence Knight, who lives near Christchurch, plays the ‘Starman'. He is a vocalist, actor and multi-instrumentalist who has performed all over the globe during the last two decades, including performances at the official David Bowie Is Exhibition at the V&A London and the Royal Albert Hall. Call the box office for tickets.

*BREWERY Square in Dorchester is set to host a variety of family activities today (25) from 11am until 5pm.

The day will bring education shows and entertainment together with a range of other family friendly activities, including large garden games, animal meet and greets, and face painting.

The day begins with a free show from the team at Mad4Animals, and will include an hour long set from popular children’s entertainer Nick Cope at 2pm.

The event will conclude with a silent disco between 4pm and 5pm, and headphones can be rented for £2 per pair. All money raised from the silent disco and other activities at the event will be donated to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital as part of the One Great Day Children’s Charity event.

*WRAP your laughing gear around Sunday Night Comedy at Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow (26) at 7.30pm.

Ivo Graham, youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe, will headline.

He has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on multiple TV and radio shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Comedy Central At The Comedy Store.

*A FANTASTIC fireworks display can be enjoyed over Weymouth Bay tomorrow (26).

Th evening will be hosted by the newly formed Weymouth Town Council. The display begins at 9.45pm.

There will also be a funfair operating throughout the Bank Holiday weekend on Weymouth Pavilion forecourt.
