A MIDSUMMER party is being held to raise money for a village church.
The party at Orchard Meadow, Tolpuddle, on Saturday, June 22, begins at 2pm and continues until 9pm.
There will be live music, a fun dog show, a tug-of-war, skittles, judging of the village scarecrow competition, cream teas, a barbecue and bar and lots of stalls providing fun and games for all the family.
It will raise money for essential and urgent repairs to St John's Church as part of the St. John’s Sparks Appeal.
The church electrics need urgent updating and repair work. A recent inspection found them to be unsafe and not fit for purpose, meaning that currently only the lights can be used. The cost of essential and urgent repairs (including improvements to the lighting and heating) is estimated at £35,000.
