ARTIST Marion Taylor, best known for painted depictions of Colmer's Hill, is exhibiting her textiles as part of a Floral Art exhibition at Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester from now until July 8.

Bridport artist Marion's canvases are still full of colour but the subject matter is more botanically themed rather than landscape.

The latest inspiration for her work has come from a deep love of nature, plants and in particular flowers. Marion draws her inspiration from her small West Dorset garden and others further afield, notably Forde Abbey and Barrington Court in Somerset.

The exhibition is being held in the newly opened Barn Gallery at Sculpture in the Lakes at Pallington near Dorchester.

Artists participating include Julia Trickey, Penny Brown, Marion Taylor, Christine Battle, Robin Moorcroft with beautifully decorated pottery from Jo Burnell. Sculpture by the Lakes is a venue created by renowned sculptor Simon Gudgeon and his wife, Monique.

Earlier this year Marion was one of six Bridport artists exhibiting at Eype Centre for the Arts
